Pink Shirt Day is a day when people come together by wearing pink shirts to school or work to show they are against bullying. Mossy Creek 5th grade girls created posters and wall art to raise awareness, as well as taught lessons to kindergarten through 4th grade homerooms. The theme of their lessons was "What is Your Superpower Against Bullying?" The girls explained that targets of bullying have a super power-- to Stop, Walk, or Talk. (Asking the bully to Stop, Walking away, or Talking to a trusted adult and asking them for help.) Witnesses of bullying also have a super power-- they can be an Upstander-- an upstander does not stand idly by; instead, he or she speaks up and tells the bully to stop, invites the target of the bullying to sit or play with them, or asks an adult to help the target.
